The Trauma Program Director is a member of the Emergency Department Nursing Leadership Team and is responsible for the development, education, implementation and coordination and evaluation of all nursing standards related to the assessment, stabilization, intervention, education and discharge preparation of all trauma patients. Works collaboratively with the director and other Clinical Practice in ensuring that high quality, cost effective care is provided to all patients by monitoring standards of practice and patient outcomes. Also monitors patient/family satisfaction related to trauma services; operational and personnel budgets; and team performance. The Trauma Program Director ensures accurate and complete data entry and record/report completion by the Trauma Services Data Analyst.
The Trauma Program Director acts as a liaison between the medical staff, nursing staff, pre-hospital personnel and the community to facilitate a team approach to the care of the trauma patient. New position is available. This is an Interventional Cardiology position. We need an Interventional Cardiologist who can and wants to start up a new program. Currently our existing Cardiologist is doing Diagnostic Cath Work (250 last year), stress, EEE’s, Nuclear Med Stress approx 300-400/yr. and Diagnostic Ultra Sounds, = 3450/yr that is not cardiac related. Echos are about 900-1000/yr. A total of 91 patients arrived in the ER in 2009 with a primary diagnosis of AMI anterolateral; AMI inferolateral: AMI inferopost, AMI inferior wall, AMI subendo infarct, and AMI NOS; While we do have an interventional lab on site and nuclear equipment, we do not surgical back up currently but will provide. We are not certified in nuclear med or echo and do not do any electrophysiology. Take call on your patients and then a maximum call schedule requirement for unassigned call of 10 days a month. We have two options for Cardiology in Elko: (1) Private Practice with Income Guarantee, (2) Employment with the hospital.

This is a NEW position due to growth. This is a full time permanent position. Private Practice, or possibly Employed by hospital for the right candidate. There are at least 150-180 spinal surgeries that come out of Elko every year, most of them going to Reno. Call is 10 days a month of regular call, not spinal call. Right now there is a Spine doc coming from Reno 2-4 times a month doing surgery. There is no trauma spinal surgery. There is 24/7Anesthesia and Radiology coverage and OR block time. This is 100% spine candidate does not have to do general orthopedics. Do not know how much exactly but about 70-80% spine, 20-30% general. There are no Orthopedic Spine or Neurosurgeons in the community. There is one Pain Management doc that comes down from Twin Falls, ID twice a month. We have 5 orthopedists in town right now, 2 with active hospital privileges. The others are doing clinical work or using a surgery center but nobody is doing spine.
